Exploiting the Future
January 2005: At the innovative Exploiting the Future conference, hosted by the UK Film Council, nearly two hundred filmmakers, producers, pioneers and other expert practitioners shared and explored innovative new ways of making, distributing and exhibiting film content in a digital environment. Women Screenwriters Scoping Study
A scoping study into the lack of women filmwriters in the UK
Identities
The identities project is a national programme, developed in the regions, which gives voice to diverse UK communities, across the generations, to create dynamic screen-based media material generated with and by them for dissemination. Connecting their past present and future through a series of spaces reflecting the diversity of social and cultural experiences and perspectives.
Initially piloted in five English regions, the East Midlands, Cumbria, the South West, South East and London, but with national and international reach. The programme is led by the UK Film Council and managed by Era Ltd.
Disability Equality Scheme
The UK Film Council is pleased to present its first formal Disability Equality Scheme. This scheme affirms our commitment to equality and to fulfilling our statutory obligations to promote equality and good relations across everything we do as an organisation.

A study of cinema access and film consumption for audiences with sensory impairments
A study of cinema access and film consumption for audiences with sensory impairments
The primary purpose of this research was to find out about audiences with sensory impairments for accessible films both at the cinema and on other formats, in particular to try and measure levels of awareness, patterns of attendance, what existing audiences think of the access services currently provided, barriers to access and crucially, how services could be improved.
