Prints and Advertising Fund
Our Prints and Advertising Fund provides money to help UK distributors produce extra prints of non-mainstream or more commercially-focused British films or to publicise films more effectively through advertising and other channels.
The fund has made grants to a wide range of films, including Oscar®-winners The Lives of Others and Tsotsi, as well as award winning British titles like the Red Road, Control, London to Brighton and This is England.

Exit Polls
The BFI requires Exit Polls to be carried out on films supported by the Prints and Advertising Fund. They are used to find out about the audience for the film, who they are and what motivated them to come and see it with the results helping distributors to refine their marketing and publicity campaign for the film and inform distribution strategies for future releases.

Digital Innovations in Distribution
The UK Film Council (now BFI) piloted an application process in 2009 that allowed a film's distributor to seek funding to cover the cost of online media and website promotion.
